Hachiman Ryu is named after sailors from the third largest island of Kyushu in Japan. In the 13th century, the Hamamoto family founded the Hachiman Ryu School. The tradition of the sword fighting school has been passed down from father to son for 800 years and has survived to this day. This style is characterized by strong and realistic techniques which, due to its nature, do not belong to the elegant style.
